Transboundary Regions under the Global Change - challenges and development trajectories

A conference will explore a diversity of challenges transborder regions are facing under the global environmental and socio-economic change. This includes such issues as natural resource and environmental management and governance, ethnic and cultural dynamics, geopolitical contexts and so on. The conference will seek to frame these issues and to put them in a perspective in order to identify development trajectories for transborder regions. A particular focus of the conference is on mountain and Arctic regions. The conference celebrates the 70th anniversary of Gorno-Altaisk State University and the 55th anniversary of the Branch of the Russian Geographical Society in the Altai Republic

The conference is organised by Erasmus+ CBHE project SUNRAISE - Sustainable Natural Resource Use in Arctic and High Mountainous Areas (http://sunraise.sfu-kras.ru) and its partners – Gorno-Altaisk State University, Siberian Federal University, Russian State Hydrometeorological University, together with Katunsky Biosphere Preserve (RU), Khovd University (MN), Katon-Karagay National Park (KZ) and Branch of the Russian Geographical Society in the Altai Republic (RU).
