Within the framework of the project, SFU has launched PhD program in Ecology for international students. 

The programme centers around the dynamics of forest vegetation and soils in a changing climate, a role of Siberian forests in the carbon cycle, the restoration of forest vegetation and soil conditions under the impact of several factors, such as, fires, pollution, recreation and others. Studies are conducted through experiments and data processing, as well as distance methods (GIS technology), and modeling.

The training is provided under the supervision of the high-qualified researchers. During the studies, students publish research results in high-ranked journals and participates in various R&D projects in related field.
